WinTr SCADA connects to OPC Servers by OPC Client modüle. OPC Servers could be local or remote. Read and write OPC Server operations made via WinTr tags.
Left side of OPC Client tab, separated two main section: Local Server and Remote Server. Local Server contains OPC servers that located on the PC that currently working on. Remote Server contains the OPC Servers that located on Remote Computers.
Local OPC Server:
Contains OPC Servers which located on the computer that currently working on. Server Menu opens when right clicked on OPC Server name.
WinTr connects to OPC Server by clicking Connect on the server menu. If OPC Server has a user interface, It will show up here. KEPware OPC Server interface shown at the following picture.
New group can be added by clicking Add Group on the server menu after connecting OPC Server.
Group Name, Update Rate and Deadband settings specified for new group.
Group Name parameter should be considered carefully. If group name will be the same as the existing group name, specified Update Rate and Deadband settings will be applied to existing group as well. At this stage, newly created group isn't added to WinTr tag algorithm yet. It is created temporarily.
New group created when clicked OK.
To create a new Item, Add Item should be selected on the server menu.
When clicked on Add Item, OPC Navigator opens for selecting OPC Server items for the created group.
OPC Navigator is an application for navigating on connections that OPC Server has. Left side treeview automatically filled with the connections when OPC navigator opended. If OPC Server does not support browsing, left side treeview won't be filled. In this case Tag connections should be made manually.
When clicked on the device, the tags, which contained by device, transferred to the Item Name list at the middle.
For adding tags that are in the middle Item List to SCADA, click Add Tag on the right click menu by selecting related rows.
By clicking Add Tag, Tags are determined, which will read and written by the SCADA.
By clicking OK, Tags will be transferred to WinTr as temporarily.
Transferring OPC Server Tags to WinTr Tag List
To define a temporarily tags in the WinTr, select related rows and right click on them and click Add Tag in WinTr.
By clicking Add Tag in WinTr, OPC Server tags will be defined as a tag in the WinTr.
Tags will be located in the Tag List tab in the Connection Manager.
Update Rate and Deadband settings can be mofied by clicking properties on the menu which appears by right clicking on the group.
Remove All Item:
Clears temporarily tag table.
Activate, starts the querying item values of temporary tags from the OPC Server. While list active, value will be written to OPC Server if it is entered to write value column and hit enter.
Deactivate, stops the querying item values of temporary tags from the OPC Server.
Removes the group.
Disconnects selected Server Connection. This operation clears Temporarily Tag Table as well.
Adding Tags Manually:
If you are using OPC server that has no browser feature, OPC Navigator Item list will not be generated. In this case, all values in the WinTr Tag Table should be entered manually.
Please consider being Input or Output while creating OPC tags. If it is tried to write a value from the WinTr to input tag, an error message show up and tag won't be written.
